ROCK ICONS AND STORIES
A WORK IN PROGRESS OPERA
The Rock Icons illustrated archive is an evolving archive of profiles dedicated to musicians, bands, and to the people, places, and events that have shaped rock history.
Each profile includes a concise biographical summary (dates, period of activity, main genres, influences), recommended listening tracks, links to the artist’s official website when available, and a Spotify player for direct listening.

These profiles are not traditional biographies or discographies. You won’t find the usual “history of rock” narrative here. Instead, each profile explores anecdotes, curiosities, quirks, and idiosyncrasies, alongside insights into technique and style, always placed within the social and cultural context in which each artist operated. The goal is to reveal the human dimension behind the musician — strengths, contradictions, obsessions, and creative tensions — gradually composing a vivid portrait of the great history of rock and roll.
The project was originally conceived as a printed editorial work. For this reason, the profiles published on the site do not include the full texts, but only the chapter titles and structural outlines that will be developed in detail in the book currently in progress. New profiles are added regularly. Bookmark this page to revisit familiar names or discover unexpected connections and new travel companions.
All images are original drawings by the artist; the coloring was done both by hand in Photoshop working with masks and with the support of artificial intelligence in the simplest images.

An evolving illustrated archive documenting the people, stories and unexpected connections that shaped rock history.
