Last Artwork: The Great Rock And Roll History 1900 - 1974

Massimo Cravich creates large ink drawings of extraordinary complexity, unique works in which thousands of visible and hidden details transform every observation into an experience of continuous discovery. Each work is a territory to be traversed: the gaze moves between micro-architectures, symbolic figures, invisible connections, and narrative references that invite you to return to the work again and again, always discovering new details.

Massimo Cravich's style is born from the encounter between technical rigor and visionary imagination. His works reveal references to the geometric precision of M.C. Escher, the love of detail typical of Flemish painting, and symbolic suggestions evoking the imagery of Bosch. These influences come from very different artistic fields and languages, contributing to making each work layered, rich, and unpredictable.
The ink drawing, entirely hand-crafted, allows for absolute control of the line and extreme narrative density. Each work is the fruit of months or years of study, planning, and iconographic research: nothing is random; every detail contributes to building a complex visual structure, made up of layers of interpretation, references, and micro-narratives.

The artist's most ambitious project is a massive ink drawing illustrating the history of rock and roll from its origins to the present day. It is not a book, but a gigantic visual work, a narrative map in which music takes graphic form.
The first panel, covering the period from 1900 to 1974, is the result of years of research and over three years of continuous drawing work. The second panel is currently under construction.
Over 1,300 musicians, bands, producers, iconic locations, and historic buildings are represented, enriched with curious details, hidden references, and visual connections that make viewing an experience of continuous exploration.
A unique work, unprecedented and without comparable works in terms of size, complexity, and ambition.
The Great Rock And Roll History
Ink on Cardboard, cm 200x140 (2023 - 2025)
The largest project I've ever worked on. I started thinking about it over ten years ago, but I never found the courage to start it. Over the years, I created a database containing around 5,000 names of artists or groups, which I narrowed down to around 2,700. Initially, I thought of creating a single panel that would reach back at least to 2000, but as I actually built it, I quickly realized that was impossible; it would have been...(continue reading)

Stories, curiosities, and anecdotes you may not know. Not the usual history of the groups, but bizarre details and curiosities that will amaze you and never bore you. This is a work in progress, so it will expand over time.

One of the core focuses of Massimo Cravich's production is the creation of commissioned artistic family trees, drawn in ink and completely customized. Family history is transformed into an elegant visual composition, rich in symbols, cultural references, and narrative details.
Each project arises from a direct dialogue with the client: names, dates, places, coats of arms, and personal memories are integrated into a unique work, designed to last over time as a visual and emotional legacy.
Massimo Cravich is currently the only artist in the world specializing exclusively in this type of artistic family tree.

A selection of ink works, paintings, and fine art prints. A collection curated over the years, divided into thematic categories, from thematic graphic series to the creation of hand-written and hand-drawn books.

MUSIC | THE SILKWAY RIDERS
Alongside the visual research, a sound universe takes shape: The Silkway Riders. A musical project founded on absolute freedom of movement: no genre boundaries, no definitive stylistic affiliations, but a continuous exploration and fusion of musical languages.
The compositions traverse territories that can touch rock, psychedelia, electronica, cinematic influences, and experimental atmospheres, blending styles and influences in a fluid and natural way. Each piece is born as a journey, a transforming soundscape, open to listening and personal interpretation.
Music and drawing remain two distinct yet complementary languages: while images construct complex and layered structures, sound explores movement, hybridization, and freedom of expression.
The songs and albums are available on Apple Music and Amazon Music, with video content and updates on the official channels.
