About this Artwork…
More than thirty years later, I found myself returning to an old series originally called Organica — or perhaps Organisms, as the exact title has faded from memory over time. At that stage of my work, the focus shifted away from the mechanical structures that usually define my drawings. Instead, the imagery revolved around biological forms: clusters of organs, bones, and organic elements that seemed to gather and evolve on their own.
Originally, the series consisted of four works; however, only one of them still exists today. Two pieces were sold and eventually disappeared into private collections, while another was later used for a music CD. Consequently, this drawing now remains the only visible trace of that earlier exploration.
Rather than being a conclusion, this piece marks a new starting point. The ink drawing, in fact, is no longer intended as the final outcome; instead, it becomes the foundation for a broader process. For this reason, what you see now represents only the initial stage of the work.
Over the coming months, the project will gradually evolve through additional interventions. In particular, the next phase will involve material work on carbon print reproductions; therefore, the drawing will function as a base for further transformations. As a result, the piece will continue to develop over time, opening new directions and possibilities.
