Hofmann Tales Ink Drawing

An example of a commissioned but unpaid book illustration (as I mentioned, my experience as a freelance illustrator lasted two years, ending with death by starvation).

I exhibited the original work in several shows and eventually sold it in Germany, which, among other things, allowed me to build a small circle of admirers/collectors who remain the core of my fans/buyers to this day.

This specific image was commissioned for a series of illustrations for an editorial project, which I know of, never realized, featuring illustrated stories by E.T.A. Hofmann.
