Unknown: About this Artwork…

This work was created during my final year at art school and, at the time, it was selected for an international meeting of young artists from the Alps–Adriatic region, involving Italy, Austria, and what was then the former Yugoslavia. Shortly afterwards, the piece won first place in the graphic design category; therefore, it became my first major recognition as an artist.

At the time, the event felt extremely important; however, today I remember it in a surprisingly vague way. In fact, I cannot recall where it took place, what it was called, or even whether it really happened in 1987. Nevertheless, the memory of that moment still carries a certain emotional weight.

Anyone who might be curious could probably investigate further; in fact, the work is still on display at the Gorizia Art Institute. As a result, it continues to exist as a trace of that early phase of my artistic journey.

The only thing that still bothers me, however, is quite simple: I like the piece, and yet they never allowed me to take it back.
