This ink work, created in 2022, is the second piece in the series titled Surgical Reliquaries; the numbering follows the chronological order of realization. Conceptually, the series connects the organic dimension explored in the Organica works with the structural language of the Mechanisms.
What distinguishes this piece — as well as the other Indian ink drawings in the series — is that it was conceived from the outset with multiplicity in mind. The work is designed not only as a unique drawing, but also as a starting point for further developments. Specifically, it lends itself to the production of prints and to subsequent pictorial interventions, allowing the image to evolve through different material forms.
