About this Artwork…
The second canvas I made that accompanied performances inspired by Viennese actionism that we staged with numerous other artists at the end of the 1980s. Performers, sculptors, painters and multimedia artists collaborated on the staging, and each show was accompanied by a parallel exhibition.
Almost all of them—there were about ten—were sold immediately (I was a penniless student, so I gave them away for nothing). I still have two of them, which I’ve titled “Performance 1 and 2,” even though, in terms of their chronological order, they would be the third and fifth.
Unfortunately, I don’t have any photographs of the other works; none were actually taken because, as mentioned, they were sold on the same day as the performance.
