About this Artwork…
This image was created entirely digitally, one of the few works of this kind I’ve created, but Dresden II is a work I’m particularly fond of. The image is the elaboration of an aerial photograph taken during the famous bombing of Dresden at the end of World War II.
It was created during the making of the video for a song by “The Silkway Riders”, which is quite difficult to listen to for those who don’t like industrial-nu-folk genres, but which I love very much, called “So Far, So Good”. In the video I inserted clips from a period film, and from one frame I created this work, in which the contrast between the lightness of the image and the hidden meaning sends shivers down your spine.
