About 1987
Private collection.
The story behind the design is quite curious. In 1987 I lived in a sort of commune in a wood by the sea, with another 30, 50 people. In August, while I was traveling to Spain, the police broke in, evicting everyone and disseminating false evidence to criminalize people (weapons, many more drugs than there were, etc). They simply had to build a marina in the place of our beautiful commune. To this day I have not forgiven that gesture. At the same time I found myself doing an illustration for a book that allowed me to represent what had happened in my own way (the police who are about to break in while people are partying by playing).
